Each registered user is required to provide his/her email address, first and last name, birthday, gender, country, zip code, primary hockey role, and favorite NHL team. Each of these pieces of information serves a different role. We require an email address so that each user can be notified of any actions in their HockeyBarn account that warrant a notification. The other information is used to identify individuals to ensure that each individual's time spent on HockeyBarn is as personalized and tailored to each user as possible. For instance, listing your favorite NHL team during registration will enable us to show the scores and stats of that team on your HockeyBarn member profile page. We also require users to provide a password to ensure that their account is private and secure. You may change your personal information or password by clicking the Account Settings' link under the main Site navigation bar.
On HockeyBarn users may also choose provide voluntary information such as level of play, current team, schedules, game results, favorite things, photos, videos, as well as any information that is voluntarily posted in any message boards, emails, blogs, chats, comments, surveys, or offers. Teams are also able to display information such as rosters, game results, statistics, schedules, or other forms of information. HockeyBarn does not warrant the accuracy of any information voluntarily posted by users on the Site.
